Honorary Memberships
I’d like to start by saying, as far as I’m concerned, I don’t have any personal disagreements with any members of the club. As I’ve said before, I think Honorary Memberships are a good thing, if its for services to the sport, sporting achievements or another worth cause. I certainly don’t have a pro...

Snowdon BPC
First round of the BPC was held over the bank holiday weekend around Snowdon, it wasn’t a classic. After a cracking day at Cross Fell on Friday I went to Llanberis, Saturday and Sunday went as forecast, wind then rain but Monday the forecast looked really promising. We went to Moel Berfedd which off...

honorary members
I'd like to start by saying I'm very much I favour of honorary memberships. I think it’s a good idea to mark members contributions to the sport either through sporting achievements or work done on behalf of the club by awarding an honorary membership. Honorary members should quite rightly feel proud...

Voting at club meetings.
I think I'm right in saying the constitution of the club states that honorary members do not have a vote. A short while ago someone published the constitution on the web; for the purpose of clarity could whoever posted it please put it up again. While I'm on the subject, in the in the interest of tr...
Algo
Just got back from an excellent weeks flying with Baz and Sam Rhodes in Algodonales, flew 6 days out of 7 with a mix of gentle ridge soaring to some quite strong stuff. The best flight was when Me, Baz and another local, Tony flew together from Algo to Ronda. Dave Horn also flew with us some days, h...

Nice picture on the front of Jon Durand, well cranked up and probably pulling a few G. As we know hang glider uprights are in compression but do they really bend that much???

this afternoon
I will be heading north this afternoon, leaving Morpeth about 1.00pm, I think west hill or coldsmouth may be worth a look if there is a more westerly component to the wind.

Marsk to Whitby (one of thse days)
I enjoyed the flight a lot specially the bit from Staithes onward. There were obviously quite a few bits out of wind but it was quite lifty and there was enough on the north facing cliffs to gain the height necessary to drop onto the next lifting section. At times I had to stay well out from the cli...

Cheviots – only real men need apply
Skived off work yesterday at 4.30 and rocked up east hill half an hour later, the sky looked quite nice, gentle 6 to10 mph right up the face, I could see some big clouds in the distance but they were a long way off. Took off just to the front of the cars, slid across to the main face and was soon cl...

BPC
South Wales round of the BPC last weekend. Day 1 we were on the Blorange, the task was 30k+ triangle to Pandy, Crickhowell and back to Abbergaveny. Hazy conditions, more stable as the day progressed saw only 7 pilots make it past min distance, Ali was second behind Dave Snowdon about 4k short of Cri...
