Everyone who lives dies, yet not everyone who dies, has lived. We take these risks not to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping us ...

Not a new site...

Post by ron freeman »

This is not a new site Ron, the first time it was flown by me was back in 1983 ! Clive Storey is the access owner the site belongs to a chap called Playfair Hanney who lives on the other side of the valley.

Both owners do not want lots of people up there or their cars (few at most) the track cost him a fortune (wood chip) and he has some very expensive race horses to train, we must not over fly his farm (track side)

I've never advertised this site because of the above, if lots go there for one day it could be lost.

from driving up the track i do not think it is suitable for vehicle access as even with off road tyres and big ground clearance it was only just doable, also on the drive down i was not happy with the indentations to the track, hence why we decided to go in the front way and walk up, the road at the bottom was not private as it had signs say leaving your car at your own risk. what was apparent is the forrest half way up was completely fenced with oening for the pheasants, so i would say that it i a big shooting hill so i think new permision may be required and i would say walk up only as the track at the back is not wood chip ot is a special horse track that they use in the horse schools

cheers gary

I flew this site last year and everything is ok with Clive Storey.
The wood chip track (horse track) starts at the very bottom of the valley (no gate) if dry a car could get up to the top but 4x4's only !

There is no wood to drive through so I don't where you were Gary ? going off the pictures it looks like you were in the wrong place for access...

But like I say it can never be a Club site its one of those one off places.
