Happy endings

Post by MadDog »

Another year nearly over itself.....And times they are a changing...
Why?.... because out of habit I would normally have opened up with:
Another SHIT year nearly over.......
H'mm must be the Ribena....
Every year I stand back and wait for the disintegration of the NHPC....Not with any ill feeling at all...nowt like that....how miserable do you think I am? N0... it's just the way things are....but look at us....Thriving....Great committee, dedicated souls......heroes....quietly getting about the clubs business ....putting custard and jelly on our plates....I really appreciate the way things have been handled this year.....Thank you...
The Christmas party rounded it all off for me really seeing so many happy people there seemed to me to point to some other way of doing the clubs business.....and bringing people with the same aspirations together in harmony, rather than the threadbare waste of the first Wednesdays meetings.....Am I connecting here?
Perhaps it was something they put in the chicken korma
Or was it the cuddle I got off Nina?
Or the punch in the mush of Trevor?
I've just voted in the poll for the weather station....I voted yes....although I think Its a non Runner.....who am I to dampen the spirits of those who are trying to make it happen....I don't really think that club funds come into the equation....best of luck to all who are involved.
So that only leaves the flying........What's that?
Too many people getting on top of me this year could be the correct answer...
Too many baby faces being promoted to ace-hood
Too many plumbers showing me how to do it..
Too many miles in the retrieve driver's seat..
What can you do?
But I had that one good day on Old Berwick....Gobbled up Brian Day...Gobbled up Ian Miskin....but was gobbled up in turn by the ginger one
Just bricks in the wall of this great sport....Good days....Bad days.... grist for the mill
Still can't get enough though.....
Just like yourself!

They said that I would never find the key to invisibility....
If they could only see me now!
