British Club Challenge

Post by AlastairW »

I mentioned this at last weeks meeting.....

We have two teams entered into the BCC

www.flybcc.co.uk

from the show of hands at last weeks meeting we have the following who want to take part:

Ron Don
Gary
Chris Foster
Chris Little
Kay
AlastairW
Ian Miskin
Steve Marshall
Ali G

There is a maximum of 6 members per team..... so with another one or two people we can make up two teams. Otherwise it will be selecting one team from the above.

So the next question is the rounds... when and where are they?

I have discounted the details I have got about South wales and further afield. To date the rounds are as follows:

Hawes 12th&13th May
Lakes 19th & 20th May
Hope Valley Derbyshire 28th & 29th April

So if you are going to take part, it will require some commitment and lots of Brownie points.... potentially away two weekends in a row if you do the Dales and lakes rounds.....
It would be neccesary to travel down friday night, and stay over saturday night.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AND CAN COMMIT PLEASE REPLY TO THIS POST!

OK.... we have enough people to enter all of the rounds, and we are definaltey booked in for the lakes round.

The other two are however full at the minute.... I have sent begging letters and will keep you posted. We should be able to get at least one team entered in the dales and peak district rounds

Alistair

Jan would also like to take part.
We can both make 28th/29th April in the Peak District & 19th & 20th May in the Lakes, but not 12th/13th May in the Dales.
Jan doesn't mind being on the reserve list if a choice of pilots has to be made. Let us know if we are needed though! 00)

After much grovelling and endless E mailing, I HOPE that we now have a place in the Peak District round on 28/29th April.... In other words the weekend after next.

I am selecting the team entirely democratically, on the basis of first come first served....:-

Neil
Gary
Kay
ChrisL
JanL
Me

If anyone CAN NOT make that weekend please let me know ASAP

Sounds like a magic bus trip coming on Gary.....

The plan would be to travel down Friday afternoon / Evening, camp and then compete on the Saturday and Sunday, driving back Sunday evening.

I've just rang the Newcastle Aero Club and they have 5 x 1/2 mil air charts for northern england in stock. They are £13.99 each. If any comp pilots need one post on here and I'll pass them on to Alastair.

I hyave just spoken to the round organiser from derbyshire, who has confirmed our entry into the round on the 28th and 29th April.

Could all team members please give me a ring so we can sort out arrangements for travel camping etc?

And do we have a flag to go on the NHPC flag pole yet??
