There's been some mention of Warcop recently, so just a follow up question to anyone who may know the answer.
The Warcop range is open to the general public over 12 weekends a year, and occasionally other days too, for walking. Dates can be checked by calling the range office (see http://www.nuttalls.com/mountains/access.htm).
On 'open days' does the range office have the authority to 'turn a blind eye' to anyone flying through the restricted airspace? I'm assuming that the range office would report any transgressions during a live fire exercise, but would they be so concerned if there's no shooting going on?
Not too sure whether I would like to land out in an area full of unexploded ordinance though. One false step and........kerboooooommm!
