Walking the Wall for Julie

Post by GlennP »

Dear Fellow Fliers,

As you may already know our long time friend and fellow pilot John Wallis lost his wife suddenly in June. In memory of Julie , John's family and friends are walking Hadrians Wall in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

It would be great if members of the club and flying community could make a donation, however small, to the fund via the Just Giving website. It's just a couple of clicks on the mouse for a great cause.

Please help if you can.

This is their offical website below

Day 5 Lanercost to Carlise

http://walking-the-wall-for-julie.blogspot.com/

Looks like you might get another cracking day on Cross Fell again today if this winds drops a bit, 7am and it's howling in the Tyne Valley.

Mission Accomplished :)

Day 6 Carlise to Bowness on Solway

http://walking-the-wall-for-julie.blogspot.com/

Good grief almost forgot to give the minibus company a mention

Great rates and great service you could do a lot worse than use these people.

Many thanks for their vehicle and very reasonable rates yesterday. That would be a great tool for going away to any PG comps.

Colin and Wendy

Post by John Wallis »

I would just like to publicly thanks Colin for having his napper shaved at the last club meeting and also for Wendy for carrying out the deed. With the generosity of the NHPC members Wendy handed me a bag on Cross Fell today with £140.00 in it. Thank you all so much.

The fund including gift aid now stands around £2620 for the British Heart Foundation....Now isn't that just brilliant! I really didn't expect this kind of money being raised, maybe a few hundred pounds but not nearly 3 Grand.

Incredible!

Cheers JW

Oh and it was another great day on Cross Fell today To :)
