july meeting and a breif talk and run through of gaggle flyi

Post by gary stenhouse »

well it was asked about a talk at the meeting in referance to the wetherfell flights, well i have just donloaded jakes and petes flights and have rune them through see you and it is great to watch how we worked togeather as a team. then how we split up at 50k. i should be able to run jim and alys as well but this will probable not fully show but will be very good to where the went and also seeing the airspace enroute. this could also be a good part of the talk by us.

let me know what you think as i think it does make interesting viewing

cheers gary

Great idea Gary. I'd be keen to hear more about all these flights
Jims flight is a very technical one flying between airspace to Seaham and very well worth showing on google earth or on XC league map display with Class d airspace highlighted, and hopefully he may be able to come along with yourself and Ali to talk these through (y)

Congratulations Jim, Ali & Gary. They're fantastic flights, especially Jim's navigation through the airspace then up the coast!

also on the complecity of all the new airspace worht this been part of the topic and why it may be worth getting yourself an aispace gps as you can now skirt within metres of airspace without loosing your flight.

But I got through

I went north, Ali went south, more difficult for him as it was against the wind, otherwise quite similar.

The Google Earth airspace plug in was made by our own LLoyd Bailey, very well done Lloyd and thanks.

I use a garmin 76csx with Simon Headfords airspace on. The Google earth plug in is in my pc, just use it to visualize the track in 3d. It is excellent, I guess it could be put in a smartphone?
