People attempting to fly High Cap/Cross fell on Sat

Post by Sad Northerner »

Hi All

I've been contacted by a senior member of the Eden Valley sail plane club who requested the details of the people standing on High Cap last Saturday.

Nothing sinister they just noted that someone had a video camera and they are interested in seeing the footage.

Regards

Ali

In that case he is in violation of Rule 325 of the CIVL 'Responsibilities of the grounded airmen' (chapter 5, subsection 32) '... a grounded airmen will not incite the reckless behaviour of another, airborne, aviator by 'pretending' to film them'.[/i]

...oh the shit is really going to hit the fan on this one!

Ali, I had a friend of mine filming with a go pro but he tells me that the footage doesn't show much. I can get it if they want it.

sounds like a wynd up, or is the sailplane pilot that was flying very low at the hill is in trouble? or did he fall short of the field and could it be he just wants pictures of himself and have a surname the same as the centre of a bone that dogs love? :D :D :D

....aye to be honest it was Marra (well done Gary, I like the 'middle of a dog bone thing). He told me that he wanted some footage to help promote the Eden Soaring club; personally I just think he's being a bit narcissistic. Either way it's good to see strong relationship between the clubs. Martin (Marra) went on to add that we are always welcome to pop in and that trial flights could be arranged at a discount to NHPC members if anyone fancies a dabble.

I took a couple of photos, no video - and unfortunately nothing particularly worthy of display on the interweb.

Here's a copule of snap's of, possibly Marra close in.

It was fun to watch - A demo flight in a sailplane around high cap sounds like a really good idea :)

Now that is what I call very good pictures. Marra will be pleased with them.

Well spotted Brian - The RAW files looked a bit boring and bland (hence my comment about no decent pics) , bit a bit of colour correction/temperature/sharpness/burning/noise reduction/graduated filters and..... voila!

Actually there's too much vingetting. I'll fix that and send a copy to Ed.
