On way to france last month, had a look at the coastal run Newhaven to Brighton. Looks good. Apparently there are some in land sites near by.

I think this is a great idea Brian, no doubt about it! But I'm still wondering if I can fit it in to my holiday allocation! I'm already committed to a week in Morocco in November then over a fortnight in Brazil in February next year plus I fancy a long weekend in Algo in late October - leaving me with only a few days holiday to juggle with and I'd like to save a week for spring next year.

I was thinking the summer bank holiday week to explore UK so I only need to use 4 days holiday to get two weekends and a full week out of it. I was thinking along the lines of starting with the grasmere show then using the M6 as a corridor to several sites in the west - parlick, long mynd, rhossily, maybe even westbury.

On my travels I've heard many good things about the South Downs but also that they get incredibly busy with London based pilots on good flying days.

That said I'm not ruling anything out I just need to organise my thoughts and holidays to make sure I get the most out of a week in UK for my level. Catch up soon have a great holiday.

Latest update. I have contacted Sussex paragliding and I am afraid its still bad news! It will cost us a tenner each per day to fly. So I propose we don't bother . To be honest we can go anywhere....

How about Scotland, Skye?
My retirement schedule is quite busy, but home now after 6 weeks in sunny France.
I could possibly fit in another few weeks here and there! :D
See you out there!!!!!

Hi Brian. You are of course tugging on my heart strings suggesting Scotland. If we can agree who will go I would like to propose a meet in a convenient location to discuss further. My head says no to Scotland but of course it depends on weather. I think we could plan a number of destinations based on an estimate of the weather. £5 for a 3 months membership of South Devon. Lots of contact numbers to call and ask for advice seems so much better than the Brighton lot who need to give their head a knock so far as the pricing goes for visiting pilots. What do interested parties think?

I know I wont be able to get the time off so wont be going but if your stuck for a location why not Normandy the ferries get cheaper as the summer comes to an end there's loads of sites for all wind directions plenty of camp sites and no greedy southerners demanding money for a few days membership of there club

Hi guys.
Although I would really love to go on this trip experiencing other locations other than Northumberland and Cumbria, realistically I can't as I have already booked a week in Oludeniz for the festival in October and need to spend some time at work here.
This may change later nearer to the date if I can wangle it.
