Just had a photo of the Cross Fell Trophy sent to me which I've added to the list.

Steve would you mind putting a link on the home page to the trophies so the members can see what's available otherwise they'll just get forgotten.

These trophies are presented every year...they can't be forgotton.

But if they aren't put in the public eye how are new pilots going to know that they even exist and what you have to do to compete for them.

If the clubs site is to have a "trophy cabinet" then should it not be to display what the club has actually won!! I don't see any other club parading there trophies like prizes.

If someone has won a competition is it not the satisfaction of winning that matters. The trinket its self matters not a jot, are you competing to be better than your compadre or do you just want to display that beautiful plastic eagle on your mantel for a year. Just me penny's worth on that, not up for discussion, just my opinion, to which I give not a jot if it offends.

But saying as you have put this together John I will create a new page based on your work. If the club feels it is so nessasary to have such a page on the website.

This page does exist in the ' Notice section' (which used to be called 'Competitions' - N.H.P.C. Trophies 2006 - Feb 28th 2007

Steve it's what we've done for years. It's the clubs history and memories of pilots who were flying long before you started flying your bedspread. It's not about winning trinkets it's about keeping the NHPC tradition alive.

So yes thanks for putting the link up I do feel it's an important part in our yearly calender.

Ronnie it's not just a page I'm after it's a link on the home page to the trophy page. The difference being a page will be lost in the forum where as a link will take people direct to the trophy page. There is a BIG difference.

Trophies "ARE" prizes Steve, and people do like parading them like trinkets so they can show off to there friends etc, thats what trophys are for.
I think its great what John Has done, as he says it keeps the memory of our friends alive and gives show off's something to get there hands on.
Take a look in Ronnie Freemans house, its full of trophies on display --- he's proud of them and rightly so. If people like trophies on display that's thier buisiness, I think other clubs do parade there trophies Steve, what about the Baildon Sod in the Dales? It may be a lump of mud, but its highly prized and fought for. They may not have photo's of the Trophy's, but They probably hav'nt thought of it yet! --- another ingeneous idea by a proud Northumbrian, --- WELL DONE WALLIS.
