Lucky escape for a Lake's glider pilot

Over the last week gliders have been winching off the top of Latrigg as they have done for the last 20 odd years. Its great to see them flying this area and working the Lakes in conditions we would not dream off with our inferrer flying machines.

Unfortunately on Friday one of them ran into trouble above Thirlmere and had to make a forced landing in the small fields at the top of the lake, a lucky escape by all accounts:
