XC every chance

Post by John Watson »

I had a conversation with Andrew Maltby and Geoff Wilson the other week on the way to the Model ridge, The discussion was about memorable flights and which flights actually stuck in your head. We all agreed that it was the XC's that remained implanted in the memory box, you have one good XC and you can live off it for quite some time, it never leaves you. Even the failed attempts are still learning curves, and if you land somewhere else, then its an XC, and practice like that will take away the anxiety of going over the back. We've all landed and said "I wish I'd gone when I had the chance" we tend not to sometimes, incase we miss some good flying on the ridge, but I think an attempt at a flight over the back is by far worth a lot more in the memory bank than some boring ridge soaring. So with 2009 rolling on --- are we gonna put some miles in the Bank? well Me, Maltby and Wilson are, --- dunno about the rest of you puffy ridge boys
