Ahh sorted! That is amazing! If you look closely you can see a couple of traces that come out of the Lakes approach Newcastle airspace and negotiate correctly. Two pilots probably having a cracking flight together. There's also one that lands right in it, and one that lands right on the edge. It is simply amazing that "all" flights that head towards the Cheviots get decked and there is no flights what so ever coming out.

Just taken the time to look at it in detail.... that is brilliant Ian!
Just look at the Mynd. One of the few places in the country that the flights get so dense the coulour changes to orange.
And even Lincolnshire, the home of flatness, has a flight passing over it.
The Cheviots can not even aspire to that!

It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

tells me ...
This tells me that NHPC members need to start flying thier own club sites.
Also many XC were done in the Cheviots when nobody flew with GPS !
Flights from East hill to Jedburgh, thats into the Cheviots and out again.
Convergence flights from Titlington to Seahouses then to Amble !
The Borders gliding club (Millfield) also have many XC flights over 300k out & returns, wave flights to 26,000ft ! yes the Cheviots are a very exclusive place when it comes to wave flying.
