well with a sneaky last minute flight i nearly ended with a decent xc but base was just a bit low and the only decent thermal was going to leave my sitting at the back of cross fell itself. thought it was going to be a bit more special but still nice fun and a 2 stop return but was quicker than walking and getting a retreive.

Go to a lower asl site when the cloud base is low.

Gary,
I read today that last march was the driest one in 6 years, and the sunniest since record begun 130 years ago....

That explains a lot why conditions are getting so good, if this dry spell continues the way it comes I am sure we will be up for a very good season.
