The sites status re Croglin on the home page link goes to The topic or post you requested does not exist

Spit it out fingers whats really the problem.
The link is a temporary problem and the group is closed as i get requests from none members when it isnt closed.
Along with the sites status I have a link to the sites quide I dont see a problem with having a quick reference to sites status so please explain why you do, yes its a great sites guide mikey has done but unffortunately it doesnt work properly for me as it may not for others. Like I cant edit on some computers and when I click on flight notes it just displays the overview.

I will spell it out, the information conflicts with the information in the NHPC sites guide, and why would you want to discourage people from wanting to apply to be a member?colin keightley wrote:I dont see a problem with having a quick reference to sites status so please explain why you do.

I thought you said you could edit the guide. There is conflicting info on the site which is noncence, you dont seem to give a damn. It also looks like the club has closed its doors to new members.I can use it fine on the works computer but no other. I have contributed to the sites guide myself with info for horden.
Hey wait, your right Colin, if no one else gives a toss, why should I?
Standards I guess.

I have edited info on the sites guide quite a while ago before I started having problems with the site guide also since the problems started I have also had a new pc so its not a problem at my end. when it first happened I tried to cantact mikey with no reply. As he has said it is a work in progress i havnt pushed for a resolution. Or do you disagree fingers, should I be constantly nagg him to sort it out, as im sure everything will get sorted when he has time.
Anyhow where have you gone looking for the closed info, as an administrator obviously I dont see the no more users accepted but im gathering you got it from the usergroups. Tell me how many prospective members are going to look in there to find out membership info I mean come on I had to tell some of the long standing members of this forum that the list was actually there.

What do you suppose I tell my gaffa when I walk into his office and ask if he minds me taking time out to use his computer to update the sites guide. Unfortunatley I dont have a desk job.fingers wrote:I thought you said you could edit the guide. There is conflicting info on the site which is noncence, you dont seem to give a damn.

Mikey left instructions which suggest that editing permissions were all sorted, but this was before the old club coaching group was deleted.

Sites Guide update
On the subject of the sites guide (not the other stuff):
Colin: Sorry I didn't reply when you got in touch before. I was not aware of the flight notes not working I will get that fixed ASAP.
The edit ability of people is driven by the forum permissions. There is a fairly complicated secure tunnel between the sites guide and the forum that allows it to check a visitors rights within the club. Sometimes the tunnel goes down (in which case it defaults to the last known permissions - or it is supposed to), and I'm also not sure if the recent modifications to the user groups on the forum might have broken this, as the group name may now be out of synch with what it is expecting. I'll look into this too.
I saw what you did with the home page and I liked it, particularly as I am finding it hard to find time at the moment to keep up with development of the sites guide. As always, if people want to make modifications and they do not have access, they can contact me by PM. I'm pretty sure I'm getting those alerted to my email inbox correctly now.
