Post by gary stenhouse »

well if the weather does pan out why not have the club comp at cross fell if the weather goes to north west then lets continue on and go free flying at weather fell or clough head and wait for another day to have the comp.

if we dont try we will be doing the usual winter comp

cheers

I'm gonna try and get out on Saturday but it will be a tadge later as I've got a few things to do in the morning and early PM so might try to get out in the afternoon. I think my comp mates the Myerscoughs might want to be in on the act unless it's the Hang gliding comp Gary.

We start the family Hadrian's Wall walk on Monday and we are nearly at our target already. If we can blast through the course we might even catch up to Colin Wendy Bill and Maltby and do a grand assault on the final legs. You can follow our progress through our Blog

http://walking-the-wall-for-julie.blogspot.com/

Thanks to Colin Chapman for the Blog idea and many thanks once again to all my fellow pilots who have helped towards out target.....A few more quid and we are there.

It is appreciated so much.....

Best wishes

John

club comp is now off as the usual interest is blistering and there would never be enough space for the amount of interest. not to worry i will be awayw from the 3rd of august for 12 days so does that mean you cant do the comp then? i think not you check the weather if its good and its a sat or sunday then hold it.

Sorry for not replying, but I would be up for it!

I don't think its a lack of interest.... probably due to two days notice at the start of the holiday period ?

Last weekend of the coming months.. till we get a HG/PG comp, this gives members time to organise & prepare.
Maximise your time & dosh do both Hanggliding & Paragliding :)

Would be a good idea, but that only gives us 4 weekends to run 2 comps, one of which will be a bank holiday when most people will have family plans, which leaves September as really the only weekend to run a comp as the possibility of getting anymore than a ridge run on the last weekend in October or November is pretty remote.
Most people last year were happy for the comp to be called mid week, with the final call being made on Friday night or even Saturday morning, it really is the only way to go at this late date.
Anyone want to organise the BCC? Anyone like to do anything?
See you out there!!!!!

what i would to know is how many people in the club work on a saturday and a sunday 1- or 2. then how many can realy say they need 3 weeks to prepare for a club comp as hardly any have young children and seriouslt need absolute permision to fly.

hardly any. yet every time we try and put a comp on it does not happen due to this scenario.

if you want a proper comp in proper flying conditions then last minut prereration is the only way.

but as i am not in charge of the comps then not my job to do so.

will try and rally my own troops and have a sweep stake instead

cheers gary
