Ryanair help !
HI im thinking of using ryanair has anybody tried to check in an over sized glider bag that wont fit on the conveyor.any help would be greatfull
thanks
thanks
Hi, when I bought my old glider in the US I put it in vacum sealed storage/packing bags and brought it over in small to regular sized suitcases. You can buy these on ebay. Here's a link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-Travel-Vacuum- ... 286.c0.m14
I think you can probably get them cheaper than this. It works well. Hope this helps.
hmmm, urls aren't working properly. The kind on this link aren't as good as the ones I used which you actually attach a vacum cleaner to and suck the air out to make a really good vacum.
try this link instead: http://tinyurl.com/lsknqy

As for ryanair they dont like passengers taking any bags never mind paragliders they have now made check-in mandatory online and they have the cheek to then say you have to pay for online check-in would check all the small print and T & C's before you book anything, and check your weights as ryanairs charge for extra weight has right sting in the tail.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country

a few mates and i recently went flying in the pyrenees and used ryanair again. ive always used these vacu bags from argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... UM+BAG.htm
as for ryanair - colin is correct, check ALL the online smallprint VERY carefully and check-in online. the maximum hold luggage allowance is 15KG and the carry on is 10KG. i ALWAYS take my wing onboard with me along with vario, gps and cameras as the best insurance i could find only gave a maximum claim of £400 per item. my wing is worth £2K so obviously i dont want this to be lost! using the vacuum bags i can fit my wing in hand luggage and my harness and all other items in a normal sized trolley holdall.
