club meeting and weather

Post by gary stenhouse »

Just a thought but given most traffic is at a standstill and more snow expected do you think it may be worth cancelling tonight’s meeting?
I know this is short notice but I think it may be a sensible option.

Cheers Gary

I was just sitting at work looking out of the window thinking exactly the same thing Gary. Imagine getting snowed in the pub!!!! Or worse, having an accident and not being able to get out flying or skiing at the weekend. :???:
See you out there!!!!!

Unable to comment as its not too bad here on the east durham coast, but is probably the sensible option, i think for those who can turn up it would probably be a poor turnout.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country

My thoughts were exactly the same Gary, and I was just about to put a post on about tonights meeting.

I could probably make it, but the concern is the forecast for more snow this evening.

It is not the Jeep I am worried about - it is the other idiots on the road in their two wheel drive cars, driving as if it was the middle of summer.

Including the one the other night who sat about 10 ft from my rear bumper. I eventually pulled over and let him pass.

And then the other extreme of people who drive so slowly you could actually reach your destination quicker by walking.....

well to be honest January always tends to have a bad turnout anyway, that coupled with the fact we have all this bad weather and road conditions it may be sensible just to cancel.

waiting for your executive decision Gary :P
