Annecy Tips

Post by Jim Bittlestone »

I'm off to Annecy in August for 2 weeks with the family and I'm looking for any top tips, things to do, places to visit, tandem companies, good flights etc please?
We are camping near Dousard but I've not flown or stayed in Annecy before so would be grateful for any advice here.
Cheers
Jim

Hire a guide, it is nothing like flying in the UK, there's much info you need to know about, from someone there flying every day.

The strange thing is when we started having flying holidays with the hang gliders there was none of this guiding stuff then. We turned up made a site assessment talked to the locals on take off and we never had an incident in all the holidays we had. Paying good money for a.n.other to follow when you could contact the club and get what info you need

it all depends on what you want out your holiday, but if you are wanting to do big triangles and out and returns then i would go to irwin for site briefing and weather and valley wind problems.

this i beleive he does for reasnable fee and i must say his breifing was all you would need to make the most of the flying.

cheers gary
