Interesting to hear the update about horden today. Clearly there is a lot going on there. I checked out Natural England's plans for the place and why they are doing it. Natural England are a powerful govt body with much influence.
The main driver seems to be the secretary for states coastal path which is all around uk. The new Tarmac path will be a few meters more landward . There seems to be underlying concerns perhaps related to coastal erosion. Access rights wil be changed to allow people on foot.
So if there's motocross etc going on around there then the gates on the bridge will be intended to prevent their access and also cars parking too close to the cliffs to prevent erosion. Natural habitat concerns will also be important but secondary to erosion.
Although we'll have to walk there I can't see any reason why they would ban our beautiful paragliders from gracing the coastal skies - but we should keep in mind what's going on here just in case.
Anyone who really wants a deep dive into the proposals click on the links below. The first one is a map. The second one is Natural England's consultation report - scroll down to 2.6 horden point to busier holes.

Thank you on behalf of the club for this information. Very useful. The more information we have the better our understanding of how this may affect us in the future. This will help us to decide the best way forward to ensure that we are able to continue flying this site and others close by. Once again, a big thank you.
Cheers, Helen.
