Sunday

Post by John Wallis »

Does anyone think we're in with a chance for Sunday at Crossfell? The isobars are opening up and XC weather is giving 14mph at 13.00 hrs dropping as the day progresses. There is trough out to the west but the timing might allow something to be had if not a day out on the hill.

Any other suggestions...Maybe Bewaldeth? a bit lower and we can start the stoning of Paul Smith (ninja2)

Crossfell ?

Post by ron freeman »

Crossfell could be fantastic tomorrow for HG's wind should drop off in the evening for the Pg's ?

Titer's will be ok for HG's & Pg's due to being a much lower site in afternoon or evening. HG's have flown to the coast many times from this excellent thermal site, can be rough in strong winds but so can many other sites. (chuckle)

cross fell looks like it could be set to produce the goods wsw low pressure with sunshine all a great combo. overdevelopment is likely to be the enemy today more than high winds. wendys 11-16 on wether fell wsw so wind should not be to strong. so all in all i would of said yous should be in for a good day.

Rutherford is picking me up at 10.30 (Hang Gliding) If anyone wants a wind report later on give me a bell. According to the fells forecast it's going to drop in the afternoon but may still be on the fresh side for the duvets (mm)

I have a felling it will be OK for the PG earlier than the some forecasters think.
