Online Site Guide Updated

Post by Mikey »

I've just loaded up the main structure of the site information system - we now have some of our sites up on the web!

:x I say some, because I was going pie eyed after the tenth addition of cutting and pasting from the paper based site guide. I'll get the rest in over the coming days.

So far, the security from our main forum is all working. What this means is that unless you have used the forum in the last week as a logged on user, the sites guide will not know who you are, so make sure that the first time you access it, you go from here:

http://www.aerositeguide.com

After the first time use it will know who you are so you do not need to do this again. All members of the club get access to the guide plus the ability to leave reviews for a site and the ability to see sensitive sites like cum***w that are not generally viewable to the public.

Club Coaches get added rights to alter the main content, so if you see something wrong get stuck in and fix it. Just click on the edit links. Don't worry, you can't break it, and a record of every single edit is kept so we can roll it back if necessary.

Forum Administrators and Site Officers get further rights like adding and maintaining the status of sites and the warning notices. I'll take them through what they can do separately.

Next, I will be focusing on the map stuff. You can see what it looks like at Hordon, but I now need to bring in the edit controls and the inclusion of OS map layers for members (covered by our annual OS Licence).

More to follow...

Mikey, some of the comments appear to be behind the site name.
Is this the bog eyed bit, or is it my computer settings?

Otherwise, looking good (y)

Hi Brian,

nope, this is me doing my usual not testing in Firefox!

Should be OK now, but you might have to hold your shift key down when you refresh the page to force it to load in the new stylesheet.

Looking good Mikey (rulz) . A couple of thoughts occurred:-

Will we be able to edit the mapping or need to introduce more detailed sketch attachments for take off/landing spots, preferred parking and footpaths?

Will it be possible to view sites according to the likely wind direction?
I'll never be this young again!
