Three TP scoring is ok but I’m not the only one who thinks blatting up and down the beach banks is a bit pointless, even if it does clock up a few km.
I’m not wanting to cause more confusion, but coming at this from a slightly different angle; I think what we need is something more suited to the flying available round here in the winter. Hows about out and return, where the return leg scores 50% of the out leg, i.e. if you get all the way back on a 10km out leg, you score 15 km. this might encourage more people to have go to fly xc rather than just ridge runs.
The only problem with this (that I can see) is we don’t have a means of scoring this on line. I’ve been trying to work out how to do it, but it’s a bit new to me and it’s taken a while to get this far.
If you want to try it click on the smiley face on the tool bar, it’s slow and it only works out straight-line distance at the minute but I think someone with more knowledge of VBA or a more suitable programming language would be able to figure this out no problem. I’m a bit busy just now but hope to do some more work on this soon, if you can help out email me at chrisfozz@msn.com
Ps if you use this DONT save your igc files from the excel page or they will be useless

No Steve I'm not a member paid or honorary. But I am used to using the scoring system and was trying to explain to Colin and John how it works (or doesn't in the case of triangles).
I don't think I said what system should be used just tried to explain how the scoring works. I apologise to the members if I have given any other impression.
This annual confusion is hilarious.
Sorry if I confused what rules are current but they get changed so often that it's hard to keep up especially when folks are struggling to understand them. Things like this should be sorted at meetings not online day to day?
At least its entertaining.

I don't care anymore I'll just go with the flow.It would appear that I am the only person with a clear memory of last year it was OLC yes OLC . I will bet £20 to club funds. peple who have posted saying 3 turn point last year look back or pay up.
