Definitely don't tether the wing it becomes violent and unpredictable if it lifts under tether it will probably lock in and slam you into the ground. Ground handling should be done with someone to help you who knows what they are doing. This doesn't really have to be an instructor but should be an everyday flyer I would be glad to show you some ground handling but I don't live in your area. One thing what is the weight range of the wing as if it's too big you will struggle or get seriously hurt in even a moderate breeze
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country

Still think it's Ali, but could be Watson. Love Mr Wolf's solicitor disclaimer.
I think the next line should be something about doing the ground handling on the beach in a westerly, after all the sand is soft to land on!
(What do I need to say now Mr Wolf? It wasn't me, I never said it, don't do it,,,,,,,,,is that enough to get me off the hook?) It was a joke don't do it!

Don’t listen to these people Timothy, oops! Got the name wrong, should it be John/James?

Take the advice you were given earlier, get yourself all togged up and jump off a bit of high ground, there is a nice bit just south of Saltburn.

If the Sun is in the West lean to the South.

I've heard that base jumping is easier to learn from the book, and there's a good bridge in the toon to try your first jump.

Orrrrr don't say its a wind up...... for a while there I thought Foggy might have sold his old Boomer, god knows he needs the money. Ah well there goes the chance for Ronnie or me to rip another unsuspecting member of the public off, we are both desperate you know to get on the 100 rich list and knock Branston and the like off their perch.

Looks like I will just have to go and selll my soul to the devil to pay for my daughters food today...

That's cos he had already spoken to you once Gary, and wanted to spend some time this weekend without the phone attachéd to his ear, listening to you!

Seriously, I did speak to someone last week about paragliding. I don't know if this is the same person, or indeed a wind up, but Gary has spoken to him, and presumably he was genuine then?

Jesus this is by far the best thing I have ever read on the forum and I feel honoured that people think I came up with this ruse...brilliant!

'can't drive'.....excellent!

'Dad's miners hat'....brilliant!

'Spoke to Gary'....fantastic!!, I've spoken to Gary on the phone before pretending to be his wife.....and he believed me!

...the list goes on.

I really don't care who's coming up with this stuff, I just don't want them to stop....please!

James if you are really going out today give me a ring on 01661 834413 I'll meet you and bring a training wing so you can see the difference. I don't want to get invloved with showing you how things work as I don't want to be held responsible when you meet your maker. The Gin will probably kill you give me a bell if it's not too late.

This has really got folk on top form, crackin stuff, some right gems.

Dads Miners hat!! I can however trump that one.

When talking to Northern for the first time about having lessons I did mention to Ian Brown (Chief Flying Instructor) I have full racing leathers (Bright Kawasaki Green and white, nothing subtle at all) and a full face bike helmet when he asked, do you have suitable clothing!! Oh how we laughed.....

I am riveted and can not wait for the next installment of the Simpsons
