meetings

I've thought for a long time that club meetings were of very little value, obviously we all have different views about this but for me the chance to catch up with people and have an informal crack about flying is top of the list. Quite often discussions are stifled by some input and unfortunately, it often seems to me we don’t have any interesting discussion or debate. Just my opinion but whatever the reality, the fact is that people are voting with their feet and that’s not just due to not having the room.
I'd be happy for the elected officers of the club to make decisions on our behalf, important info can be passed on through the message board, it will reach more people that way and any major decisions could be opened up for discussion also on the board.
We don't need a fixed venue for an informal meeting, so there's another problem solved; I'd still like to see us still hold an AGM, the auction and a formal presentation evening. Other events could be funded by the club during the winter months at a booked venue, any suggestions to the committee.
