Against all odds.....
From the posts I have seen it looks like East Hill was the best choice yesterday!
I dont think anyone flew at Horden, and from Garys post it looks like the lakes was just a top to bottom.
It was typical East Hill mind...... 10 minutes flying, slope land, struggle back to the top, then another ten minutes, and so on till 5pm.
And rough at times.....

Plus a few spectators....
And it was warm!!!

It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

Nice flight up to East Fortune on the edge of the Firth of Forth. A fair old wind at height. 1 hour 5 mins up there and 1 hour 40 to get back. The thermals were much stronger around Coldstream than they were at East Hill. Climbing at 500 ft/minute with the throttle on cruise in places.AlastairW wrote:Dave, that would of course be Ronnie......
We saw you fly out towards the Cheviot, and back a couple of hours later!
Nice one Paul, hope you didn't forget the milk and a nice bunch of flowers to keep her indoors happy! And he said he was just nipping out to the Shops !
I wondered if it was you, as I was looking up towards the skies from the footy pitch

Everyone seems fairly negative about the north lakes yesterday. I personally had a great flight from Jenkin. Had a brief play around above take off then tried to go over to the summit but there was nothing but sink as I crossed Applethwaite Gill. Had a quick look around the next bulge but still no lift so turned and headed to the landing field. Got over to the gate which you go through mid way on the walk up being 550 feet below take off and could find nothing but lift when I was expecting to land. Climbed to 150 feet above take off then failed with my attempt to top land. Ended up skimming over Latrigg and landed in the centre of the cricket pitch in the park.
