Sunday 15th Gary Hume, Matt Doncaster and I went to fly on Black Combe on the Furness peninsula. It was too windy and off to the north so gary and I decided to drive to the Lowca. I could see here that there was virtually no wind so kept on driving. Gary decided to stop and check it out. He told me there was about 3mph at take-off but after a while a Morning Glory-like wave cloud rolled through causing the wind to switch 180.
Meanwhile, down at the Great Orme Wales, some good flying was being had before people started getting trashed and sinking 1000ft per min unable to make the landing field.
Strange day.
So much for benign coastal flying.

Sometimes you've got to dance when the music's no good.
