Flying at Model Ridge today

Had my first flight on the RS that i purchased from Gary and found it very easy to fly and i was over the moon witht he performance of the kite, think i should have moved over to a topless years ago, just goes to show you get comfortable with something which i think makes you reluctant to move to something else. The paragliders had a fantastic day too. Hope to see you all out on the hill soon.

great flying alan though a bit light when we first took off, it was great to fly back to baack hg then pg . you realise how easy a pg is but the hg is such a flying machine. took my first gamble today and flew into ingleby bowl to follow gary got a nice thermal and made my way back while i could. i had mr wirdnam stealing all the thermal and always out climbing me so much better but i was still very happy with my days flying. then it was time on the paraglider and mr maltby who was flying on helium again, going to have to balast him up.

all and all well worth the day off work and worth the greef.

A great day at Model ridge, no, magnificent, my first time flying there... well impressed. I spotted Andrew in the distance at Hasty Bank when I arrived above Cringle, when I got there, folk were coming back, so I went to the car parkand turned around as not too sure about going further round? Only got to 1000ft a.t.o., clouds still well above.
My NK1 (DHV) does seem a bit slow in a breeze compared to some on the hill, but I've never flown any others to compare. Enjoying it tho, solid and responsive.
Thermals were coming through, working quite well, but seemed brief to me? small and short lived, was this due to the breeze?
The second time I went to the car park I had to work to get back as Hasty Bank wasn't working too well, but a local suggested getting further out forward over the trees and this did work better so thanks whoever you are.
One of those days snatched between nightshifts as a bonus. Just a shame I had to leave at 2.30 as it looked like Ron Don and Andrew were getting well high
Even better than Friday on Cookies and that was brill, 1000ft again.

Why, oh why, oh why, is it always perfect flying weather when I have to be in Warwickshire or that there Londonshire?
