What to do When it Over Develops.

A picture from our recent jaunt out to the Alps.

Of which Susan is pretty proud!

But can anyone tell where it is?

Can't say I know the exact Viaferrata but the valley looks like the one leading to Chamonix where Dennis Trott used to have his school.....Plan something?

Ali is right. It is just to the West of Plain Joux take off, with the Mont Blanc range in the background, and if you look closely you can see the landing field in Passy.

Mr Guthrie had mentioned some while ago about going out to the Alps to climb some Via Ferrata - literally "Iron Road". Originally used by Mussolini in the second world war to move troops through the Dolomites.

They are a big tourist attraction in the Alps, and absolutely brilliant fun for those non flyable days.

Well well well Alastair! I watched a good hanglider pilot at the time brake threw the inversion one day, at the same place, And I said to my self, I will see if I can have some of that, yes at the very some please, now I know were the wee people come from. That man was none other than, Harry Postill. Well Susan you showed what you are made of, where some dare not to tread!!!

Ps. As I under stand Via Ferrata was dreamed up by the shepherds to get to pastures that thy could not get to by foot, thy took there live stock the same way. If any one wants to see the first World War front line. The Italian border with Turkey,is the place to go by via Ferrata or Paragliding. It is all still there. Thousands died on both side, and only moved a few yards by night.
