XC league

Post by ron freeman »

I'm surprised its possible to enter flights without a track log.. can this be sorted Colin ?

Big Xc are great fun and not so hard to do providing the conditions are booming, consistant and a decent high cloud base (even Gary will do one one day  )

Much shorter XC flights are equally demanding and technical when the thermals are not so regular and more spaced out, we should not forget this.

There are other ways of achieving site records - Out & returns, Goal flights, Triangles.

I think the 'Sky god' crap and the big flight mentality is diluting what we can actually achieve on the not so good days.

I have always said 'The most demanding flying that we do is topland ! '

In no way are my comments above are intended to criticise the excellent recent acheivements of our members.

Everybody heard of Kitt and calvs flights of course kitt puts his flights on our XC league so gary put on calvs so everyone could see that also, normally gary puts a message on the board saying that he has done it, hes not trying to cheat anyone and on our board you can look at the flight in more detail than you can on the national XC league.

As for the tracklog you cant get a flight on the board without one but that would have been available from the Nat Xc League

Certainly was at Cross Fell yesterday. Just ask Gary W.

Steve took the easier option and flew to Easington just to avoid the top landing.
