Hi All,
I've visited the delights of Melmerby bowl twice now and both times I was fortunate to get something to escape before the wind got up.
Could anyone who has top tips and/or experiences about the bowl (and routes in and out of the bowl) put them here to aid folk to get in and out safely?
For example, when the wind got up yesterday from the south I found that there was less wind on the far side of the bowl, less lift too but easier to get forward.
Also we all climbed for about 2-3 minutes heading into wind, was this wave do you think?
I had some really interesting discussions with quite a few people yesterday which will help me in my flying.
It seems to be a great place to fly if,
a) You can get there safely and
b) you can get out safely.
Just a thought, all contributions appreciated.
Cheers
Jim
