Hi Folks
Naomi is on her grand tour in the van currently at Dune De Pyla and planning heading over to Millau on Sunday. Can anyone add any advice to getting the best out the place for MTB, PG or whatever - I'd like to send her a 'Rough Geordie Guide Like.......'
Cheers

Re: Dave Hume
Only trouble is Hogdon Law is a north easterly which would put you straight into the danger area so no However all is not lost as going over the back of East Hill would put you on more or less the same track....... :D - Start from Hownam and give yourself a chance! Well done lads - that flight will...

Hard to say without being there! The main thing is that you were both having a half decent flight in the Cheviots you lucky buggers! How far your prepared to walk is up to the individual on the day but obviously make sure you've got the kit to walk for a couple of hours and any food and water you mi...

The Northumbrians have been having a ball in Scotland - here are Sundays results. Great flights by AliG, Ron D, Chris F & Neil Cloudbase was so high they went hypoxic and had a few airspace issues along with many others but it must have been a great day out.......... http://www.bpcup.co.uk/resul...

Good luck to those in the BPC. I hope the weather plays ball and you get some good flying in - the crack will be good and the Tibbie Shields is in a beautiful spot. If it's flying your after and you have sunday & monday free I'd think of staying on the road north to the highlands though............

What are the incidents that are causing concern? Aside from CKs - and well done for reporting it - the recent incidents that I know of have been from experienced, if not the NHPCs MOST experienced pilots. XC has not had any great bearing on them that I know of. Collapses such as AG's and CK’s are do...

A good point Paul - at the end of the day competitivness comes from within the individual, we must all be responsible to ourselves! Another factor may be that the Northumbrians tend to have to drive long distances to sites and tend to arrive with a very strong 'can-do' attitude, perhaps fuelled more...

Get back up from 200 ft - 60 m Ron? No I can't claim many of them - and if I have it will have been nothing but luck. Of course I don't plan in advance quite the same as you do :-) So what's it to be Gaz, your at 60 m on a gusty day, are you coring it to clownbase or setting up a safe landing?

Fair point Ron I see why you prefer small difficult hills but from only 200 ft your main concern is a safe landing - I'm sure you will agree.
There are many ways of enjoying your flying XC is only one of them. Don't be too frustrated Gary, you'll be back at clowdbaste soon

When you travel so far it ain't so easy to be certain about navigation when in unfamiliar territory - I had some similar issues that cut the flight short too - with GPS and with map (OUT OF DATE - DOH). Paolo - nothing takes the flight away does it :-) How the ankle doing? See you above the highland...

Just click the link - you should eventually get a map with european airspace on it and lots of red lines. Move it around and zoom in in the usual way?!

John makes a valid point - by all means low airtime pilots go along and take part but keep a rein on your ambitions. Be under no illusions flying the BCC is often too full on for low airtimers to expect to compete in every task. There were a selection of very interesting near misses at Moelfe last y...
