New Year...New outlook?

Post by MadDog »

I was just about to blow the candles out last night, quite ready for bed, and looking forward to getting away from all this deep Yuletide shit, in true Miss Haversham fashion, with me nightie around my ankles,
Look at the muck on this wedding dress!
And then I read about Brian and Gary’s flight on Saturday….I nearly choked on the Ovaltine…..What did they know that I didn’t know?
I never ever thought that Saturday was ever going to be flyable…..
Wrong again…..
Well done both of you…..now I ask you;
Can you beat these canny lads from the coast?
And isn’t this the way to do things in the winter?
Turn out, no matter that the forecast is iffy.
If you can’t fly it…..walk it.
Throw caution to the wind….go for it…and while you’re going for it, grit your teeth together and push the boundaries at the same time.
All of these things happened to those heroes yesterday….
I wish I had of been there!
I wish I was a proper person,
I wish I had DNA
I sometimes wonder if I’m only an old has been, living life out on the flights of others, or just biding my time until my turn-around comes around again….
But, what goes around comes around….
After all, now I think of it, Me ,Wallis, and Gordon Proudlock done the very same thing years ago….taking off at the radar masts late one evening, and landing by the sheep pens with what was left of the evening sun fast disappearing behind the balls of Great Dun Fell….
Hangliding of course….Perhaps I can dig the picture out!
So perhaps there is still some hope for the hungry then….roll on Tuesday, start the Xmas holidays early, let’s see if we can expand the frontiers for a change, instead of cowering at the back of the queue..
Strap it on me……
Stand clear of the doors!

Is that a teapot with a porn tash??
The very one that said on Saturday morning 'You'll never fly today'
To which the reply came
'We're going to take off at the radar masts in 10 minutes and fly down the ridge'
'Rubbish, If you get 10k I'll give you £100'
12.7k!!!!!!,,,,damn that landing after 3.5k,,, would have been a nice early Christmas present!
See you out there!!!!!

Surf crazed and dazed

Bloody hell 1989 on the photo 20 years ago doesn't time "Fly" when you're enjoying yersell. Brian I think I was pointing where the rotor was and telling Miller to take off first so I could see what happened to him :)

As for yesterday got to say I was surprised as it was howling over here. Never the less I probably would have had a run over myself but for the woodpecker in my head caused by a full bodied 14.5 Shiraz :(

Nice flight down to the old Sheep pens.
