could there be light

Post by gary stenhouse »

well been checking the forecasts and saturday could be looking very good for crossfell 9 mph sw with wall to wall sunshine. with only 36 hours to go do you think it could be possible for them to be right?

on even a braver note could it be possible to pull of a club comp if it is going to be good while there still is a chance for some thermal activities.

there could even be an acro display by the sat boys ali and anto?

no seriously it would be good if we could at least get a big gathering out on saturday if the weather is fine, as i think we all need a little suport at the minute.

we all have to pray to the wind and weather gods and make saturday a special day. and make a day of it.

cheers gary

Might be a good day on Cross Fell by the looks of it. Got commitments for both days this week end so I hope you have a good one. The holiday already feels like years ago

Good idea for the acro display Gary --- pause for an excuse....oh dear.....I'm gutted that I've got a stag do in the lakes this weekend ....sigh of relief.....so you won't see any SATs from me on Cross Fell any time soon .

Alistair on the other hand is the SAT-daddy - and he's already approved CrossFell for SIV (well asymmetrices anyway) so I'll be looking forward to the club-comp-video.

Not just SATS now........

I spent the last two days of the holiday getting Jocky to teach me how to do Helicopters, with varying degrees of success I have to say......

The best ended with three revolutions before it went pear shaped....

The worst involved stalling the cravated wing......

Apparently, according to Chris White, a loop is much easier to do than Helicopters.... maybe next year!

Definitley not something to do in this country. Only to be practised with good instruction and a boat waiting to pick you up if it all goes tits up...

Neil apparently has a video of the helicopters...
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

I'm already looking forward to another dose of overwater-rescue-boat-with-world-class-instruction-assisted 'flying'.

I've got a feeling the SadNortherner wouldn't be able to resist - and I suspect a few others would also be interested another course to learn some new stuff.

Something to think about for the spring?

nothing irritated me more than the sight of all those lovely young girls ogling at your maneuvers in Turkey and knowing that I was not part of your and Ali's elite SAT club.........enrol me now; please.

Cheers

PS. I also intend to cultivate a 'Wallis' tash just to add that extra bit of sex appeal.

Just getting to grips with flying helicopter, bet my spins are faster than yours!
Anyway, back to the subject in hand,,,,,,,just postponed Saturdays appointment, (visit to the zoo,,,,no, not the one I work in, a real one with animals) to Sunday. So here's hoping it was worth the grief, and I'm rewarded with sunshine and dancing girls,,,,oh, and a nice days flying at XFell. (sun)
See you out there!!!!!
