To as many BHPA members as this can reach in time, Firstly sorry for the short notice but I have only just heard about this. The second Consultation on Mode S is timetabled to be launched this Decemberfollowing the on-going discussions between the CAA and the majorassociations that represent GA pilots. As part of the consultation processthe CAA is holding a number of seminars to discuss its proposals and toreceive feedback from the GA community. The first being at the PFA officesat Turweston Airfield, Northamptonshire. Roger Hopkinson, PFA Chairman, haskindly extended an invitation to BHPA members to attend. For full details on what, where, when, and what you need to do for the firstseminar please see:www.pfa.org.uk/Presentation.asp Other than attending, if at all possible, the only thing that I would ask isthat you do not descend on to an emotional level when discussing the issueswith the CAA staff. It is fair to say that lessons have been learnt fromthe last consultation and there is no point in shooting a messenger, particularly when (as the CAA tell us) the actual proposals have yet to befinalised. Unfortunately some 500 plus miles make it impossible for me to attend, otherwise I would say, "See you there."! When the actual proposals are published for the next consultation it is ourintention to keep all our members fully briefed again. Cheers TomBHPAALO P.S. to BHPA Office please forward this as widely as possible
