Snowdon BPC

Post by chrisfozz »

First round of the BPC was held over the bank holiday weekend around Snowdon, it wasn’t a classic. After a cracking day at Cross Fell on Friday I went to Llanberis, Saturday and Sunday went as forecast, wind then rain but Monday the forecast looked really promising.

We went to Moel Berfedd which offered a grand view of Snowdon but that was about as close as we got. Half a dozen brave soles lobed off and struggled to make it to the landing field. Cris Miles had the best flight of the day, I think he spotted a bird, flew straight out on what looked like a top to bottom but connected with the something which at best was about 50ft per min, eventually, he got to around 500ft above takeoff, which was class in the conditions but still didn’t get him out of the start cylinder; null point all round.

Had a nice walk across Crib Goch on Saturday and some good crack but otherwise it was crap. Still, on the positive side it’s still all to play for.
