So if I had a hard landing and broke both my arms are people saying the insurance company will say I'm still able to do my job ....Like lifting a gearbox in and out using my teeth. Are we not to believe any insurance companies?

Steve has already highlighted it:
Insured totally unable to pursue gainful employment.
That means being incapable of doing ANY job.

Not your normal employment.

So if you can do any work, then they wont pay out..... in the scenario you have outlined John, you could still lick envelopes??

:D :D
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

Exactly John, how can we differentiate between insurance company’s, they’re all robbing sods and will go to great lengths not to pay out, so what do we do! Not get insurance? Or pick the one that looks the best for our needs. This one specialises in sports - pays out after 14 days - covers me for any sport - and also covers for £2,000000 liability. If they do any dirty tricks there will be a few Northumbrians not renewing again.
And John --- I thought you always took the gearboxes out with your teeth you animal.

That does it then I'm going to break John Watsons arms when he's not expecting it of course, let him put a hang gliding claim in and see what the result is. If he doesn't get paid I might have to re think my cover :dealer:
