club comp if the weather is right for paragliding 10th augus

Post by gary stenhouse »

Hopefully we can get some good weather, so here is the next proposed date for the comp, 10th of August 2008

Hoping to have a 2 category competition

1 for best Trier come newbie

2 for the overall champion

There is no real plan at the moment, as I don’t do plans, they only get in the way of spontaneity. To much planning means more can go wrong.

What I can say is there will hopefully be something for everyone, from the novice pilot to the hungry xc hound!

GPS will be optional, though now that most people have one in the club then it might be a chance to have a go at a couple of waypoints and see how it works? there is no sure thing that waypoints will be used , but if they can, it would be backed up by a strong visual point, to make it easy and also to build trust in your equipment.

You might find that this equipment can come in very handy in the retrieve and rescue if you know how to use it.

The plan is from the 10th of august onwards, we will try and plan the club comp on every Sunday until we get one in. the one weekend that it will not be possible is the weekend of the BCC.

Remember that the club competition is for everyone, and in these situations anyone can win.

cheers Gary

based on fun with full balls out
This is probably why we get 'those adverts' on our site!
I'm not sure if I can take the general merriment, copious drinking and late nights associated with competitions for our club two weekends on the trot,,,,but I'll have a damn good go at it!
See you out there!!!!!

Absolutely Dave just need the weather mate as I said the next decent SW wind we can get it on. The only weekend I'm knackered for is the 10th/11th august as I'll be in Edinburgh for Barrie Wray's Stag night and I won't miss that
