As has already been said in some of the other threads, it was rather hot on three of the days in SA.
In fact on one day the temperature hit 47C in the shade on take off.
And that was the day that Neil had walked the last half mile up the hill, and was already rather warm by the time he arrived and kitted up.
He took of, unfortunately in a sink cycle, and went down. However he missed the main landing field, and landed on the far side of a ridge, in gorse bushes, then spending an hour retrieving his glider, packing up and walking down.
By the time he got to the retrieve bus, he was apparently speaking gibberish, and complaining of his sight going.......
Susan stood him in a cold shower, fully clothed, and then to rub salt in the wounds, video'd him!
Apparently by the time of the video he had returned to near normal.....!
You can judge for yourself!!

Neil in the shower!!
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........
Re: Neil in the shower!!
However.... there was about as much shade on Korrinberg take off as there is at East Hill. It was scary hot.AlastairW wrote:As has already been said in some of the other threads, it was rather hot on three of the days in SA.

Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperthermia "Signs and symptoms" - From Neil's description of events he had most of them!
Congratulations on surviving Neil!
