Has anyone been to Piedrahita? I am thinking of going in October, if anyone is interested?
Ive had an email from Steve Ham and he is reducing his prices in October from 450 Euros to 350 Euros, if we can get 5 or more.

How does it compare with Alicante, (Doyouwanna)?
Also is October too late to go for a decent XC?

October is getting late in the season in my experience for Piedrahita.

Save yer money Jim, you can get good XC conditions in October in the Cheviots.
Maximise your time & dosh do both Hanggliding & Paragliding

Yeah Jim. Why would you go Piedrahita when you can sit around and not fly on a hill in the Cheviots...... 
Just remember Piedrahita will be a new place for you, a place that you are not familiar with. You need to be careful at your stage and wait at least 2 years before even thinking about booking a flight to Piedrahita.
In my very humble experience of Spain Alicante was as hit and miss as any other place. I got 3 days out of 8 in March. Befoer I got there 16 days straight good conditions. I met a guy on the Coaching day at Whitestones who spent a week under rainclouds last October and flew once. Whereas the club went last year near that time and flew.
I went to Algo in 2006 with Active Edge for my EP. We had about 4 days flying out of 7.
Morocco was flyable for 6 days out of 7 but only 2 days were soarable the rest TTBs.
So get down to Stanley travel. I'm sure they can find you a nice B&B near titters.

Nice Pork Pies in Wooler and a lovely Chinese too..... None of that foreign muck you get in Spain.
A couple of guys I went to Morocco with want to go on a flying trip for a week. Since I'm already going for a wek of parawaiting in France I suggested a week at the Long Mynd probably in June if you're not against camping and not flying.

Unfortunately weather is just never dependable wherever/whenever.
I have a couple of skydiving mates who've been to the USA on freefall formation record attempts this year, namely the "California State Record" and the "Texas State Record" (last week), both "unbelievably" weathered off.......
If the good 'ol USofA can't get the weather...................

I had the same when skydiving in Empuriabrava.
I in the UK think we just expect the weather to always be better somewhere else. Which of course it is ......until you arrive there with a large rucksack full of nylon.
