BCC 16/17TH May Lakes

Post by AlastairW »

I have to say how totally disappointed I was at the lack of enthusiasm for the BCC at last weeks meeting.

Does no one want to compete?

Or is it just that no one can be bothered to organise it, and are prepared to leave it to muggins here???

Some weeks ago I did arrange an entry into this weekends rounds in the lakes.

If anyone wants to compete, put your names below.
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

Ali there is no doubting the work you done to make these shows a joy and a breeze for all who took it for granted, turned up and had a ball. Its all the work you do behind the scenes that people dont see that is just simply thank less, I know, believe me. ;) No one give a toss how the Waltzer is put together, but they all enjoy the ride, even more so if its free.

Can whoever split this post put AW's original question back on the other one, 'cos it just looks like Steve's having a rant for no good reason.
I also offered help, is this someones way of saying that its not required?
:???:
P.S. Did I mention my Horden flight? 8) Only 2nd time there too.
Still smiling :home:

i am in as long as thehand fares up

what we need her is pilots any shape or form as a team is not a team if we have no one in it.

the big reason over the years why i have dropped out of direct competition, bitching becomes part of it and this i dont like. i do everything for fun and when sport no longer becomes fun then its time to move on.

i want to see a united front of allmembers coming forward to fly no matter they are aces like miller or relative begginers. yes when i compete i do it to win but if i dont i like to walk away and enjoy the day. if i go away feeling bitter then i wont compete.

so get you names up and lets get a team togeather

cheers gary

Jim,
I've responded to you on the other thread, don't know why they have been split, other than your presumption!
There have been no confirmations sent via email about the status of this event, not even an 'event post'. I will keep people informed if I hear anything to the contrary.
Did you fly at Horden yesterday Jim?
I must have been at work until 8pm!....Dammn teachers with a 9-3 job!
If I can I'll be there!
See you out there!!!!!

I'll be around either to compete or to lend a hand. I would suggest that if you're not sure, come along, see how you feel on the day and even if you don't get your name on the sheet, try the task anyway. I'm sure that will give you the confidence to try next time. We've got 2 teams paid for so that's 12 pilots at least.

Theres a few people posting now with an interest, which is great.
Can I suggest a team with experience to go and get 'em with perhaps one low airtimer in (to be looked after, groomed and generally mollycoddled-as is our want)?
Then the other team could consist of an experienced hand or two (who can take a glass) to keep us right and a few low airtimers to gain experience (sneak in through the back door and kick butt)?
Not sure if this is going ahead due to the weather/ organisers, but if it is, it's a good chance for an intro into the world of comps.
The other option is to go 50/50, but at least one strong team may be preferable?
We are joining this late it seems, have a few rounds been held already?
