Incident at Horden tonight.

Post by AlastairW »

Dont panic!

Apparently a drunken fisherman fell over the rocks just to the North of take off this evening, resulting in two lifeboats and the Boulmer Sea King arriving.

The BBC have got hold of the wrong end of the stick and are reporting it as a paragliding incident.

Fortunately it is not.

Mike Brown asked me to put this on the forum to put peoples minds at rest, just in case it is on the news.
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

Horden incident

Post by GlennP »

unfortunately I am a mere camera grunt in the eyes of the BBC and me telling them exactly what was going on and who was involved seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Sea King landed at take off a number of times after winching 2 men off the rocks one of which was the casualty. He was taken away in an ambulance on a stretcher.

The other man was there person who had alerted the ememergency services after finding the casualty on the rocks.

2 lifeboats from hartlepool and a sea king from boulmer along with 2 ambulances and a coast guard vehicle were invloved.
You are only as good as your last flight........
