They did far more than just survive it!

Jan and Chris's flying on the SIV was brilliant. They both completed the full course, Chris finishing with a great SAT on his final flight.

Well done both of you!

Come on Jan, you've tempted me and now want to hear all about it. Or tell me about it at the Bash, as I'll probably need a G&T myself to be able to listen. Well done u :)

Glad you like it Colin, it took me ages to type all that with 2 fingers......keep on practicing Jan and you'll progress to 2 finger typing just like me
Ignore my e-mail Colin, I wrote it before I tried logging in as I hadn't received a confirmation from you.
Great site by the way Colin, with some excellent write ups, keep up the good work.

I just maintain and update the website, Steve Marshall aka FINGERS is the creator. The confirmation mail should be automated i'll look into that. hopefully i will be able to do a write up like yours by this time next year.

Hey nice to hear from you Chris, and yeah, that XC after I got back was the icing on the cake for me.
As you asked so nicely, here's a link from my 2008 diaries for the dates 23-30 Sept of that very trip you mention Chris.....pay special attention to 24 & 27, and bear in mind that my mother, father and girlfriend were reading them, so I had to play down the incredibly badly sprained ankle that occured during the incident on the 24th as I didn't want them to think that I was injured......so take into consideration the fact that I had to walk up Babadag with my ankle in that state. http://www.swwsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=402.45
And here's some links for the pictures I took during my stay.

http://www.swwsc.co.uk/index.php?action ... tem;id=474
http://www.swwsc.co.uk/index.php?action ... tem;id=480
Don't laugh too much.......although I've been able laugh about it a lot since.

Just looked at the pictures Andy - I am certain you would make a great member of NHPC!

Some members of our club have done slightly better than you though, flying a hanglider into powerlines, setting fire to the hanglider.......

So you southerners are a bit wimpish, merely snapping the wire!

Those were the pictures of the power line I chewed through, I haven't posted the ones of the power line I flew through yet.
If I lived closer I'd definitely join, but I would be very concerned about your members setting my wing alight.
