Sounds like...
Sounds like you flew through it, the mixing air can get pretty rough on the line of warm & cold air. On the other side (cold side) the wind would be coming from the coast.
Onc'e through it its very hard to get back into the lift especially when the inland wind (opposing) is very light, this will give a very shallow wedge and unfortunatly our glide angle and top speed is not good enough to get back into the lifting side of the convergence.

What. Couple of duffers, not being able to hook up with the see breeze covergence, if only....
Next time we'll do the sea breaze thingy, that should get us past the Cafe, then we could hook up with some low level wave off the back of West Hill, that should get us across the Pennines. A quick flip through the Mendips before finishing up with some pleasant evening soaring along the White Cliffs of Dover. Should be a piece of cake.

Fantastic men, excellent flying. Having also flown yesterday I think that you got as much as you could out of the day, really rung its neck.
That convergence looks a long way away to me.
It will come, the right conditions on the right day is all it takes, you can only fly the conditions on the day.
Considering the size and position of the hill too.
I am currently considering you both for my (currently) vacant post of XC trainer, this is available as job share so no squabbling is necessary.
I am coming up to 12 months since I passed my CP shortly, which is the time I gave myself to start thinking about leaving the security of a guaranteed lift home.
So enjoy yourselves whilst you can
P.S. I only have 60 hours, as I had 4 months off in the winter, is this enough or do I need to hover over take off some more?
Cheers
Jim
