THE END OF THE ROAD FOR SOME.

Post by RonDon »

How Sad is this. Where did this dieses come from!! For people like me it is the end of the road. Is this the “BANKERS” all-overs again. You have it all to come to?

THe British Mountaineering are GOING TO STOP INSURING Paragliding. From Dec 31. 2009.

well i know the company that i was insured with in annecy stopped pg insurance shortly after. i guess why the bhpa insurance is so important at least for flying in the uk.

as for flying outside the country then it is a different matter, if in europe we have e 1 11 so healthcare will be covered as for repatriation then you may be stuck.

Just to be clear the BHPA insurance is third party and the BMC cover was for accident. Although an E111 will cover you for medical treatment whilst in Europe that's it, if you rescued off a hill side then there may be many extra expences which with out insurance you may well have to pay. Remember the advert on the tele where the rafting trip goes bad and the bills then start to esculate.

i must say after seeing how many people that have had accidents abroad i always thought the insurance was too cheep. i paid £76 the time of my accident with the sportscover direct i pay 240 for european cover.

but john watsin reckons for 120 he gets full cover for wages etc which i reckon will not be worth the paper that it is written on

check your small print or be prepared

I cant help raise an eyebrow to ANY insurance of this nature. Its a little like employment insurance, not worth the cost because you cant make a claim unless you fall into circumstances which turn out to be unobtainable.

John will not get cover for wages, even if that was the monthly premium.

Has anyone had a very close look at the BHPA insurance terms and cons.?

Try TGIC for paragliding insurance. Sunsoar use this for their foreign trips.

Insurance is insurance.
