Next Club Meeting - Thursday 10th May

TOOK THE NIGHT OFF WORK TO ATTEND THINKING BECAUSE OF RECENT SAFETY ISSUES I REALLY SHOULD BE THERE WHAT A WASTED NIGHT THERE WAS GARY MYSELF AND THREE OTHER MEMBERS TURNED UP. OH AND THE ROOM HAD A BAND PRACTISING IN IT WE REALLY NEED TO SORT THINGS OUT
I know your not specificly aiming this at me Bill but like I said when it changed to Thursdays it's our busiest night of the week at work so there will be occasions I can't make it however when I can't I will allways at least let the chairman know as for the roomat the end of the last meeting chris said he was going to sort the change of date for the June meeting with the manager so don't know what's happened there and again I apologise for the 10th of May typo instead of June but hey these things happen when no one is proofing things and I'm left to do it on my own. As o said I'm not taking this personal just feel I need to put my point accross.
The function room is booked for the first Thursday of every month I made that clear on the forum when we changed the night from Wednesdays and also informed those attending at club meetings.
I thought we'd agreed at the last meeting we were still going ahead with Thursday 3rd June and the room was free then.
We expected a low turn out last night so I didn't even attempt to book the room its been hard enough getting the Corner House to agree to give us the room for free on Thursdays and keep that for us so I don't want to mess them around
I think that Wednesdays seemed to be a better night for everyone and after speaking to Gary we thought it may be a good idea to consider a community centre or school hall where we can have the meeting as well as bring along kit, do reserve packs and even ground handle in the school field. This will keep costs down in comparison to booking a room in a pub and for those desperate for a drink could bring along there own beverages

I think thats a good idea chris, sorry if i miss understood what you said at the May meeting.
As its not possible to please everyone I think the committee should get together sort something out and make a decision for the club as we cant please everyone so asking everyone to make a decision just isnt going to happen, I agree keep it wednesdays we certainly had a better turnout that waybut venue wise leave it to the committee

Think it might be an idea to annoy everyone with an email before the next meeting to remind them. I've got an email group set up if you want me to do it, just make sure I know when the meeting is. Also a post on the forum in big print!!!
There is an email function on the forum But if you want to email everyone before the meetings be my guest, but its certainly not something im going to do as if i ever forget straight away i'll be the first to be blaimed for no one turning up.
Dont fix something that aint broke this month was a one off and it only clashed because we moved the meeting to a Thursday, make a decision fix the night and lets try to get back to normal.
Gary i think it would be a good idea if you were to call a meeting of the committee members so we can sort this out and lets get it actioned.
