Is this the end?
The 6 of us that turned up to the meeting tonight had a vote and unanamously decided that the monthly meeting would be knocked on the head however we have secured the Function room for the AGM but we have to pay £50 for this privelage.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country

Spending club funds in such a haphazard fashion without the approval of the majority of the club is an absolute disgrace.we have secured the Function room for the AGM but we have to pay £50 for this privelage.
Appologies again for not making it number 7, we could have the Return of the return of the magnificent 7.
The meal with the outlaws for their annivesary was a far more appealing proposition and not one mention of paragliding
In the mean time, back to the van, whos progress is about as good as the decking.
See you out there!!!!!

Glairingly obvious
It seems to me the committee should be asking themselves why no-one is turning up for the monthly meetings. Three things seem glaringly obvious
1..no set day, time or venue.. it also may mean paying !
2..No formal meeting itinerary...i.e. guest speakers, proposed talks, quizes competition plans, fund raising etc etc... the sort of things that clubs traditionally do at meetings.
3.. Minutes taken and posted
The committe can not take an arbitary decision to abandon monthly meetings without a members quorum vote. (NHPC constitution)
I suggest an 'extraordinary meeting' to resolve these issues with every member contacted to try to attend and also with an agenda.
Members are more than happy to fly their club sites so they should be more than happy to support their club meetings when everthing gets sorted out...

Firstly for those who took this post seriously I apologies it was done to see if there was any life left in the forum.
For the forseable future the meetings are to be held like they have been for a few month now on the First Thursday of the month we now have the Function Room secured but it has meant putting up £15 a month. We have also had it agreed that as soon as the band stop using it on a wednesday that we get the wednesday back.
As for emailing people I have done this the last 2 months now and evry registered user of the forum gets an email not just members. If people arnt getting these emails then they havnt kept their email address upto date on the forum.
I do take minutes at the meetings but currently working 6am till 8pm nearly 6 days a week and have been for some time now so when i do have time to put them on the forum to be perfectly honest i cant be arsed, I am sure most would understand.
As far as Club Secretary goes anyone who would like to do it can take it over no problem as it was pressed onto me in the first place because no one else wanted it.

2 replies is amazing with nearly 100 members, yes we have lost the wednesday night for the time been and had to mave to a thursday night.
the main reason why we lost the wednesday night was when we put on bar staff into the private room, we only bought a couple of drinks meaning they paid 4 hours wages for a few drinks. i spoke to them today about this and they seem happy with the new arangement and do think that we may well now get the eddnasday back soon as the band had been loosing there suport.
i have been in the chairmanns job for almost a year and i know its not the job for me, as i am sick and tired of iping the arses and been the enthusiasm for every one.
ask your self when did you ever ring others to see if they are going flying?
i di this daily to try and motivate others to get out but very rarely get a call back.
cheers gary

Sorry about colin and myself not attending the meeting this month as we were just returning from our trip to France as mentioned at the last meeting.
Along with Bill, Andrew, Dave Hume and Steve Gill who are still over there, who I'm sure would be sending their apologise if they had internet access.
See you at the next meeting or hopefully out flying the hills before then.
