No wonder !

No wonder there are mid airs at theses comps ! far too many for any type of flying but because this is a comp and pilots are fighting for the best lift all the time... its an accident waiting to happen.

I've flown in strong thermals with over seventy + very hungry hanggliders pilots & all going to cloudbase beleive you me its not fun and it should be !

For me a handfull of pilots flying whatever enjoying a nice day

Ozone has pretty much dominated the world cup and other major comps this year you've got to remember these are not your average pilot to be able to enter the world cup you have to be a point scorer in an international event first these guys spend most of there time travelling the world to these events so flying with so many others is common place to them Phillips broere (however you spell it) is one of these people and likes to video it somewhat of an airborne reporter would you consider restricting cars on the m25 just because congested traffic at 70mph is an accident waiting to happen or would you expect common sense and caution to prevale
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country

lack of expereice...

Post by ron freeman »

Colin, cars don't come at you from below & above so I dont understand that comment :o

I'm sure you will change your mind when you have been in this situation a few times when competing to experience just how scary it is ! the reporter will get as many a good shot with less flying... the facts are its doen't matter how a pilot we are we can all make mistakes and the more pilots around you increases your chance of a midair :o

If that many gliders mad you uncomfortable then you wouldn't enter the world cup it is a serious competition not ment to be fun that's what fun comps are for, the world paragliding cup is about as serious as it gets my point was about congestion the more congested things get the more caution you exercise weather it's on a road or in the air. Granted I don't like it when it gets busy in the air so I wouldn't put myself in that situation doesn't mean you should stop others
