During the long dark winter months most of us pilots will resign ourselves to laying our gliders down into hibernation. Those with a "die hard" attitude will either wait it out on the hill through snow and wind or travel to the far flung corners of this planet. All waiting/searching of those most magical of moments - air time. For others, winter flying exists mainly in our heads, by reliving successes/failures of the past year and dreaming of adventures in the next. During these months we will need our senses reviving, our neurons sharpening. We will need to be reminded how it feels when we're doing what we love so much. We will need to be inspired.

We are planning a day of films and speakers which extol the varied aspects of this sport.

The programme is almost finalised and so far includes;

Films

Jocky Sanderson's Security in flight II. It's been 14 years since his first best selling SIV film. There have since been great leaps in glider design, performance and safety so Jocky has produced a new version filmed in high definition and using slow motion editing techniques. A keenly anticipated film.
We are also showing a selection of other recent films covering acro, adventure and free flying. And short films from Pimple Queens.
