WOW! Great Lakes Flights from Mssrs Little and Scammell

Post by Jim Bittlestone »

The great flying continues in the lakes yesterday with our own Chris "I'm not playing the xc game man, I'm just enjoying the walk up and the fly back to the car" Little, who, after climbing Cat Bells, decided to fly back down to the car.
Unfortunately someone, (an accomplice me thinks), must have moved the car, so spurring Chris on.
The car must have been driven south through the lakes, over passes, through valleys eventually out of the national park to be parked in Morcambe bay!
Apparently, "the handbrake was let off" is the excuse but I'm not buying it.
Who knows where it will be parked today??
Brilliant flying Chris and well done, thats a massive flight especially on such a light day.
It must have been great flying over those familiar hills and lakes, not jealous at all (envy).
Can we have a write up please?
Some canny triangles done too including a huge 75km one from Chris Scammell.

Well done Chris, didn't know you were one of the guys up there. I was walking up Cats Bells on Wednesday, turned to look back along the ridge and saw loads of paragliders laid out. I must have walked straight past you! You did well to get away, the window didn't seem too long and the see breeze kicked in from the back later but I did see someone quite high soaring the back in the westerly later on. Looks like a nice hill but I don't think I could carry the hang glider up there. Took me all my time to get myself up there and landing options for the hang glider are a bit slim.
